Meet the Team.

  • A Chicago Illinois native, Serria Rego grew up understanding that hard work didn't lead to wealth. She chose finance as a major when confronted with the expense of medical school. She simply wanted to work where there was unlimited financial opportunity sans an extra 5 years of education. Serria considers herself to be lucky to not only have the finance degree, which is rare for women and people of color, but also to have worked for several different firms. Her views were also shaped by her 7 years as a domestic and international model, with clients such as Tommy Hilfiger, Guess, YSL and Yahoo. Now, as an advocate for Black Lives and justice, she realizes that finance is much more than money. It’s safety, hope and protection and she enjoys sharing what she has learned by training and mentoring new financial professionals.

  • Fabiana Downer is a native of the Caribbean Island of St. Lucia in the West Indies. She comes from a remarkably successful entrepreneurial family, with an ownership stake in many local and commercial real estate ventures. Although her family had a high net worth and good cash flow, due to no guidance and financial planning, a series of events lead to the business demise and a final fire ruined the last commercial asset. Fabiana decided to plan better for her family and educate others who are left behind. She also helps her community both here and in St. Lucia by assisting financially for underprivileged children. She periodically volunteers at the hospital as a retired nurse.

  • Gilbert Aguilar comes from an entrepreneurial family. His father created his own business to move his family to a better neighborhood. However, due to lack of guidance, the business took time from the family without the assumed rewards and as a result, Gilbert went the “safe” route. He spent 33 years serving in the county government helping those in need of Medicaid and CalFresh. He never knew that additional financial planning was needed outside his employment and like many employees, he assumed his pension and social security would support his lifestyle after retirement. Gilbert’s lawyer, suggested he speak with a financial advisor and the advisor asked him to consider the opportunity with World Financial Group. Gilbert’s father inspired him to become an entrepreneur, however, he knew he needed what his father lacked, mentorship. WFG is providing that mentorship. Gilbert encourages everyone to follow their dreams, it’s never too late.
